The Summer Academy
consists of a two weeks' stay in Northern Italy and offers intensive seminars in
combination with an attractive leisure program for talented and motivated
students.
The course for medical
students is titled “Innovations in Molecular Medicine and Clinical Case
Presentations”.
The number of
participating students is limited to 15; these students are selected according
to their qualification. Only top medical students get selected and are allowed
to participate.
There are three
professors: the two from TUM/University of Erlangen who organize and lead the
course, and one american visiting professor:
The language of the
course is English.
The course program
consists of lectures given by each of the 15 participants (either a presentation
of a clinical case or about a certain subject in molecular medicine) and
lectures given by the teaching professors. The presentation style follows
principles of US Medical Schools (POL, PBL).
As the Summer Academy is
sponsored by companies and associations, the students don't have to pay for
accomodation/full board and transport.
The setting of the Summer
Academy is Sarntal, Northern Italy. The hotels are located right in the
mountains. For that, the second part of the Summer Academy consists of wonderful
hiking tours- at least one day's hike together with the other courses and two or
more half day's hikes.
Altogether, the Summer
Academy is a very attractive combination of Academy and Summer Holiday….
