Alexander Breuer: Finite-Volumen Tsunami-Simulation im Peano-Framework (MA)

Topic of this diploma thesis is the numerical simulation of tsunamis within the Peano-Framework. Elucidated is the entire process of the simulation, starting by choosing and outlining the numerical method, reaching to solutions for the model equations and their implementation in the Peano-Framework and finishing with the simulation results of real tsunamis. The implemented Finite-Volume-Method shows excellent results using bathymetry and earthquake data. This might be the foundation of further extensions using the Peano-Framework.


Diese Diplomarbeit beschäftigt sich mit der numerischen Simulation von Tsunamis im Peano-Framework. In diesem Rahmen wird der gesamte Prozess, angefangen mit der Wahl und Zusammenfassung des numerischen Verfahrens, über die Lösung der Modellgleichungen und deren Implementierung in Peano, bis hin zu Simulationsergebnissen aktueller Tsunamis, beschrieben. Das implementierte Finite-Volumen-Verfahren zeigt, nicht zuletzt durch die Verwendung von Bathymetrie- und Erdbebendaten, exzellente Ergebnisse und bildet daher den Grundstein für viele mögliche Erweiterungen auf Basis des Peano-Frameworks.
