SimLab Education Program

Due to the great success of the previous eight SimLab Courses on Parallel Numerical Simulation in 2002 (Belgrade, SCG) on the occasion of the SimLab opening, in 2003 (Belgrade, SCG), in 2004/2005 (Bitola, Macedonia), in 2006 (Belgrade, Serbia), in 2007 (Bitola, Macedonia) and in 2008 (Cluj , Romania ) in 2009 (Cluj , Romania ) to further support Computational Science and Engineering (CSE) in south-eastern Europe, we announce the

Ninth SimLab Course on Parallel Numerical Simulation

- financed by DAAD -

scheduled for 3 - 9 October , 2010
University of Belgrade, Serbia

Preliminary Program

Registration

The short course is open to everyone interested in the Lab's activities and in the topics of numerical simulation and parallel computing. If you are interested in participating, please send an email to Vasco Varduhn not later than August 31, 2010.

Your email should contain the following information:

  • Family name
  • First name
  • Date of birth
  • Nationality
  • Professional status (undergraduate / graduate / PhD student, Post Doc, assistant, professor, ...)
  • Your field (applied mathematics, computer science, mechanical engineering, ...)
  • Institution
  • Address
  • Email address
  • Short description of the motivation and research interest

This is just to get an overview of how many participants we have toe expect (appropriate size of lecture room etc.).
This year, the target audience of this course is primarly represented by graduate, master and PhD students.

Attending the course is free of charge!

German Academic Exchange Service has granted support for students from outside Belgrade, either in Serbia or in one of its neighbouring countries. Hence, we offer up to 30 scholarships covering accommodation (6 nights from Sunday, October 3, until Saturday, October 9, including half board) as well as some subsidy for travel expenses (depending on the actual cost). Students who want to apply for this support should mention it in their registration email and give some estimate of their travel cost. In case of an application for support, we need your registration email not later than August 31th. With these scholarships, we want to especially encourage students from outside Belgrade to take this chance of some training in a highly relevant and up-to-date field of research.

For any questions, please contact Vasco Varduhn.

We are looking forward to your registration or application - see you in Belgrade!
