Danila Klimenko: Evaluation of Preconditioners for Element-Oriented Conjugate Gradients Solvers
In this project we evaluate a set of preconditioners for the Conjugate Gradients method used by the sam(oa)^2 software package to solve the two-phase porous media flow problem. sam(oa)^2 provides an efficient framework for building adaptive element-oriented solvers for 2D partial differential equations, but its internal architecture imposes a set of constraints on the type and order of operations that can be applied to the grid elements. Given these constraints, we strive to find a suitable preconditioner that could be implemented within the sam(oa)^2 framework to increase the convergence speed of the systems being solved.
