Michael Zintl: Design and Implementation of a Modular Primary Flight Display for a Flight Simulator

Master's thesis introduction talk. This is an external thesis at the TUM Institute of Flight System Dynamics,
advised by Pranav Nagarajan and Julian Rhein and examined by Prof. Hans-Joachim Bungartz.

Cockpit instrumentation is often limited to a specific aircraft. The goal of this master's thesis is to develop a Primary Flight Display (PFD) that is as modular as possible. This should enable any researcher to dynamically adapt the PFD for the respective research project and to display only the information that is relevant for the project and the aircraft type. The implementation should make future extensions easy and a defined transmission protocol to the simulator should exist. In addition, based on the results of a survey at the institute of flight system dynamics, further features will be developed and implemented.
