Pei-Hsuan Huang: A GPU accelerated Lattice Boltzmann Solver
Master's thesis submission talk. This is an external thesis at Lilium, examined by Prof. Hans-Joachim Bungartz.
The objective of this thesis is to develop a single-GPU accelerated LBM solver on octree-based grids. The chosen benchmark test cases are the 3D Taylor-Green vortex and the turbulent channel flow. Results match well with the literature and the reference data from direct numerical simulation (DNS). However, the performance in the sense of memory usage is not as good as expected while at the same time impacting the speed of the solver.
